How Long Does It Take To Become A Certified Scuba Diver In Florida?
I really want to get certified and start exploring underwater life more often, but of course the right way. I know it’s expensive, but to get certified and be able to use the tanks and professional equipment is what i’m talking about.
How long should it be to learn everything? I want to take my time and make sure I’m good with everything.

For the basic recreational diving certification (entry level for nearly any agency), if can take as little as two days. Out of all of the students I have had, there was maybe one or two, I could have taught in two days.
More realistically, you should look for a class where the pool and classroom is completed in multiple sessions over the course of a couple of weeks. After that is complete, you’d have two days of certification dives. I would consider that class to be more of the standard.
For cave diving…
1. Get your recreational diving certification.
2. Obtain tons of experience in open water situations where the margin of safety is higher. Work on your buoyancy and gas consumption.
3. Take cave diving classes.
4. Dive.
Cave diving introduces many additional circumstances to scuba diving. While none of them are inherently dangerous, if you don’t have the experience and planning, they can become deadly. Most cave deaths are the result of inexperienced divers thinking they know it all.
