I have been giving my son vitamins for a few weeks now and for some reason it never crossed my mind that I should be sterilizing the dropper before putting it back in the bottle. Can he get sick from this?

  2. Doubt full- for a couple of reasons: 1rst, the manufacturer would have had to specify this on the label if anything serious was going to happen (does it say “refrigerate after opening”? If it does, it’s for that reason). 2nd, just the act of opening it automatically exposes it to “germs” from the outside. So it wouldn’t really matter, unless your son happened to be sick while you were giving him the drops. In this case, you might have a little petri dish on your hands! :P

  4. I never sterilized anything like that that I ever gave my kids. I think you are worrying too much. We can’ t all live in a bubble. Let him get used to some germs.

  6. I don’t think sterilizing is necessary but perhaps give the dropper a rinse with tap water before you put it back in the container.
