Well, i guess it’s possible that could work out, and it MIGHT not be too weird. However, i really don’t think there’s any real mature 5th grader… :/ , but he might be, idk.. there’s always exceptions. Age also plays a big role depending on age. I think it’s pretty weird, personally, t this age. And i also think 6th graders with 8th graders is weird..but, for instance, i’m 15, i don’t really think it’s weird to date someone that’s 13. lol, though i wouldn’t go lower than that. But, still, stuff like when you get up there, closer to being a legal adult, like 17 and 18 and stuff, though it may only be like a few years, that matters a lot to most people. I can’t really say how i feel about that for sure….i do think it is a bit weird, but there was a girl that likes me and i like her, but she’s 19(or 18, can’t remember), and even though she likes me, doesn’t want to date me because of the age difference and she said she would feel weird dating me because of that. But, if he does have decent or a good amount of maturity, i guess go for it. Though i still don’t think it would last.. :l . I think it’s kind of strange. Don’t take it personally.
You usually don’t date people of other grades until high school, because then everyone is kinda mature. Or at least more mature.
Now, I hear you that you say this guy is mature for his age, but you are going to be teased a lot for going out with a guy 2 years younger than you. I don’t know if you mind, but they’ll probably say you’re desperate.
But if you guys really like each other then don’t let me stop you.

I don’t believe it is called dating when you’re barely even in high school.
Although,
I’ve seen this situation several times.
Yeah, so maybe age doesn’t matter, however, that rule only goes for people over 18. I don’t know where you live, but here in the U.S., if you’re a 16 year old and you’re dating a 14 year old, that is called rape. It doesn’t even have to be a sexually intimate relationship. It doesn’t matter the gender of the person, whose older, whose younger, blah. blah. blah.
Dating people that are younger and older than you when you’re under 18, results in consequences. The way life is, and how teens are these days, it’s not much to enjoy. I’m not saying you can’t date, although you really shouldn’t because you’re just entering middle school and you need to understand more about relationships and how love/ like really is.
The decision is up to you though. There’s never one correct answer. But you need to look through things on different perspectives.

well it might seem kinda weird to ur friends and stuf but when u r older and out of school its perfectly fine. my mom is 40 and my dad is 45 thats 5 years difference when my mom was in first grade he was in sixth.

Fifth graders and/or seventh graders should not be dating anybody. Just worry about being a kid while you still are, don’t rush all that stuff, it just ends up giving you a headache.

It is a bit weird. Your not even in the same school. You have to think, your probably 12 or 13, while he is 10 or 11! It would be a bit awkward.

I personally don’t think that it is weird.
But you will need to be prepared for all the teasing, etc. that will come with it.

Its not that bad, I am in 9th and dated a 7th grader. Do what is in your heart. But people will make fun of you for it, just ignore them.
