Train travel is comfortable. you can go by…
1. Brindavan express… leaving chennai 07.15 a.m. daily.
2. Bangalore express.. leaving chennai at 1.30 p.m. daily.
3. Lalbaugh express……leaving chennai at 3.40 p.m. daily.
4. Bangalore mail…. leaving chennai at 10.30 p.m. daily.
you can get tickets booked easily anywhere. Bangalore mail is the only train where sleeping coach available. All other trains in which AC coach available.

you have a choice of fast day trains like brindavan express & shatabdi. Alternatively, you can take the bangalore mail overnight train.
Between bus and train, I would prefer train due to comfort and safety. But another suggestion is to consider air travel as the quickest means. Travel time by air is around 45 minutes only. Ticket costs around Rs. 3250 one way. you can check at http://www.travelguru.com
I wuld suggest you with train travel becos bus travel even sumtimes gets suffacating cos thr u wont hav a seperate place to lie down and sleep at night….which may make u feel uncomfortable…..while train has all the facilities and hope u wuld too enjoy that….Hav a gr8 journey!!
As far as I am concerned, I prefer train travel than bus travel as if you are travelling by train you can have free movement instead of sitting all the time.
