Is It Still Safe To Travel In India?
Hello everyone,
I am an 18 year old white male from California who is/was? planning on traveling to India this summer alone for a month or so. However, the recent Mumbai attacks(specifically targeting foreigners) has left me a bit discouraged. In addition, I went on to a government travel site and learned of almost monthly terrorist attacks throughout India since 2006. I was wondering if there is anyone who has been to India recently, is from India, or best of all-currently lives in India who could give me better advice as to if this is still a good idea or not.
Thanks,
Brian

Brian, frankly the doubt that you have does have a valid reason. But tell me which country in the world is safe or has not had any terrorist activity in the near past?
Same is the case with India. Although it has got a lot of unwanted attention for the past few years, but Let me tell me we Indians are proud of this country and the rich culture, of the fact that we don’t think about just ourselves when tragedy strikes. We take care of the people around us. Mumbai is the example, where the Hotel staff didnt just leave the guests to themselves, but even amidst the whole chaos, they were catering to the guests, helping the police and army. This is an act of bravery very inherent to India.
The India experience is going to be a learning experience for you( I assume you are going there for the first time). It is such a diverse country and is so interesting. I’m sure you are going to enjoy your trip a lot and this will be a memorable one for you.
i am an indian residing india and i can tell you that everything is safe and you would be a fool not to visit as this is gods own country.security and awareness has been doubled and it was safe even during the 2006 terror attacks tourist spots were safe.hotels and tourist spots are now twice as safe.so please came bring others and have agreat time in india.
