As for restaurants, when I went to Chennai, I had food at Murugan Idli Center and it was delicious.

Marina, Besant nagar beach, vandaloor zoo, spencers, city centre, inox, vgp golden beach, annanagar tower park & aiyappan temple, Kovalam beach, muttu kadu,abirami mall,tnagar ranganathan st, mahabalipuram,mangadu mariamman temple, triplicane parthasarathy temple, mylapore kabaleeswaran temple, santhome church, connemera library, melmaruvathur adiparasakthi temple, Gingee fort(out of chennai).
Good restaurents:
Anjappar restaurent-egmore, ashok pillar.
Karaikudi chettinad mess- annanagar, ashok pillar.
Paramakudi restrnt- annanagar,
Ponnusamy-egmore,vadapalani.
Vasanth bavan-annanagar, vadapalani
Saravana bavan- 21branches in chennai.
Hott chipps- Broadway, vadapalani,ashok nagar.

If you are looking for chinese food cascade in khadernawaz khan road,Mainland china in Chetput are the best choice.
The best business class hotels i would recommend is hotel rain tree in Alwarpet,Courtyard marriott in Mountroad(teynampet) and Taj connemara (egmore)
For Traditional cuisine you can try Mystiq masala again in Khader Nawaz khan road.
For American food there is Sparkys in chetpet , Little Italy in Nungambakkam and mmmafia in Nandanam serve th best Italian food
If you are a Veegan cream centre in Raja Annamalaipuram is amazing and the Bengarong restaurant in the same area is know for thai food.
Amethyst one of the oldest coffee shops in Chennai is at Gopalapuram its one of the most amazing places in Chennai too!
A for the must see places in Chennai
Dakshinachitra , cholamandalam artist village and irular village on the East coast road ,nanganallur anjaneya temple ,alwarpet anjaneya temple,Luz church ,santhome church,Broken bridge in besant nagar and the beach there,pebble beach in east coast road are some of the places you cannot miss in chennai

Some important things u need to adapt to are bumpy roads, empty dustbins with trash all around it, people swearing at u for waiting during red signal even if road is clear… in short, all the things u r not allowed to do in ur Singapore.
Some of the most popular vegan hotels are Saravana Bhavan( Best if u ask me, high quality, great taste)
